superfruit Kombucha sangria
Kombucha, also known as the Elixir of life in Imperial China, is a lightly effervescent fermented drink made with tea. It is also referred to as "kombucha mushroom tea", but in reality, it's not a mushroom, but a colony of bacteria and yeast. Therefore, this delicious beverage is high in probiotics and will keep your gut and immune system happy!
I LOVE Kombucha! I remember that my mom used to make her own when I was a child, but only rediscovered it a few years ago. I'm not a juice drinker, nor an alcohol lover... but I do drink a lot of this incredible fermented drink! I also really enjoy adding a few chia seeds into my glass of Kombucha...
This year, I was looking for a healthy holiday cocktail. Hey... who said cocktails could not be part of a clean diet ? Most of the recipes are made of sparkling water and I wanted something different... so I had the idea to use my favorite beverage and came out with this amazing Superfruit Kombucha Sangria! Oh god ! It was so good we drank it all week long! I also added in 100% pur organic juices, pomegranate seeds, cranberries, goji berries, citrus fruit and berries! I know! SO MUCH fruit! Way more than your regular sangria... But this "virgin" version of the Spanish punch is so much fun and perfect for any holiday party! Trust me, this cocktail is THE best virgin cocktail for any occasion (baby shower, wedding, party, summer bbq and of course... Christmas celebrations)! It almost taste like the "real thing"... minus the alcohol. And what about those berries and oranges slices swelling all the flavours... it could be a good idea to keep a few spoons close by ;)
During summertime, you could totally omit the cranberries and add whatever seasonal fruit you like (pineapple, strawberries, apple...).

4 cups organic pomegranate or cranberry juice (or a mix)
1/2-1 cup whole cranberries
2 cups 100% pur organic orange juice
2 tablespoons goji berries

1 cup frozen berries
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced

Prepare all the fruits. In a large bowl or a cocktail pitcher, mix all the ingredients together. Set aside in the fridge. Serve cold with a few ice cubes. You can totally prepare this cocktail in advance if you want... it will even taste better!
Note : If you're using cranberry juice, depending on the brand, it might be too sour. Pour in some honey or organic canne sugar, to taste.
