Sparkling strawberry lemonade (refined sugar free)
Hello! I know, I know, I’ve been very quiet for the last couple of weeks!
The thing is... I was traveling to my hometown, Montreal, alone with my two energetic kids. Needless to say I was asleep at 9pm every day! Plus I almost never had access to a computer. Yeah... I broke my Mac screen for the second time (no comment...) and had no time to repair it before leaving so I left a computer loaded with draft recipes waiting to be posted... Arghh, how frustrating! So, I apologize for the lack of blog activity.
Enough said, I'm back and I have a lot of great recipes to share!
When I was a kid, I used to live in front of a huge tennis court. One summer, my sister and I asked my mom if we could have a summer pass to an amusement park called "La Ronde". It was also "the day" my mom had decided it was time for her girls to learn some important life lessons about responsibility, making money, working hard, business etc. So we took advantage of the fact that we had a bunch of thirsty tennis players just in front of us and decided that we were going to sell lemonade! And since they were REALLY looking exhausted and sweaty, we sold our glasses of frozen "Minute Maid" not for the regular quarter it used to be... but for ONE dollar !!! Shame on us ;) And you know what? Our stand ended up being a big hit! Offer and demand I guess ! And we got our summer passes! This is one of the greatest memory that I have with my little sister.
Twenty years later, gallons of homemade lemonade later, this tart sparkling strawberry lemonade is one of my favorites. It is super easy to do, fresh, bubbling and the perfect drink for your bbq party. This refined sugar free lemonade is sweetened with maple syrup (or honey) instead of the regular white sugar so we are far away from the frozen commercial lemonade.
